The CD called keeping it country contains twelve songs, all stone country: not the bubblegum music coming out of Nashville now and ephumistically called COUNTRY MUSIC. Jim Cook who hails from Inez Kentucky has been writing and playing country music(the real stuff,) since boyhood where he sang in church. This experience still shows in his music as Jim has remained a devoutly spiritual man despite the number of years he served as a deputy sheriff in Kentucky , and the episodes he endured while dealing with the more tawdry aspects of life, Arresting bootleggers,whores and crooked gamblers. Jim Cooks songs and his rugged voice are a perfect compliment to the emotional goals of his songs.
